The valve can be actuated by 9V-24V of direct current power, and will open or close fully in 3-5 seconds. Once fully closed or fully opened, the valve automatically de-energizes, meaning it will never overheat. While many people use solenoid valves for home projects, many of them are constantly energized, which, in combination with the solenoid being enclosed, can lead to overheating.
